RACHEL SHOPPER

Rachel Shopper is a naturalist, outdoor educator, and poet. Growing up, she spent most of her time in the forest, finding solace and inspiration in wild places.  Rachel’s curiosity about the various practices across cultures for healing, harmonious connection, and self- discovery have led her to explore many pathways that lead us toward weaving a web of regenerative human culture, wherein each of us can bring our gifts to the world in the truest embodiment of ourselves. Rachel has studied nature connection, mentorship, and earth skills at the Wilderness Awareness School in Duvall, WA. She is a Kripalu certified yoga instructor, and has also studied permaculture design, shamanic journeywork, and creative writing. She has taught for numerous nature connection programs in the Southeast and currently lives in Asheville, NC, where she is working on her master’s degree in counseling. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys wandering in the woods, gardening, and storytelling.

CHRISTOPHER KEISER

I am a North Carolina native who loves leading the Team of work traders and hosting guests on this unique and healing land. This Land is a renewing spot on this earth surrounded by 360 degrees of mountain vistas. Along with helping to envision and activate progress on the Land, I enjoy feeding folk healthy meals. I have an MSW with a concentration on Community Organizing. I work in a Group Home for young adults learning Independent Living Skills. I also facilitate Rites of Passage for Youth in Foster Care through Under One Sky Village Foundation which includes facilitating Talking Circles and Sweat Lodge focused on deep sharing and marking transitions toward greater responsibility and fulfillment in life. I recently returned to the U.S after 5 years in Ghana creating Moringa (“Pharmacy Tree”) School Gardens and an organic farmer’s market in Cape Coast. The small piece of land on the coast in Ghana I rented for 99 years back in 1997 has coconut, cashew, mango, lime, neem, moringa, avocado, banana and plantain trees growing as I nest on this continent for a little while.

GARY TUERACK

NSLS Founder and Chief Visionary will be joining us and helping lead part of this retreat experience.
