Are you wanting to take your leadership skills to another level and travel internationally? Are you wanting to learn what it means to be a Global Ambassador? Are you wanting to explore the world and change lives, including your own? If so, this is a trip for you!

Over the past decade, True Nature Education and The National Society of Leadership and Success have partnered to offer exciting service, leadership, and adventure travel opportunities around the world.

You are invited to join us in 2024 in Costa Rica! Costa Rica is the original home to True Nature and was the first location that the NSLS traveled to in 2012 as part of this exciting program. Journey from the city to the beach and then to the incredible rain-forest in a week that you will never forget. Connect and learn from people and the rich culture of the land of “Pura Vida”! (meaning “Pura Life” and the mantra of Costa Rica). Take part in service projects which include volunteering at a monkey sanctuary, working on a bio-dynamic farm, supporting a local community service project and being part of an intercultural exchange at a local school. You will have an unforgettable journey, full of outdoor adventures, connections, contemplative leadership activities, and service outreach work. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet new friends for life,learn about being an international student leader, and explore more about yourself. In a time where our world is becoming more and more of a global community, come be a part of the bridge of support by taking part in this incredible service, adventure and leadership trip.

Students will stay at beautiful Eco-lodges and locally run sustainable hotels. Our programs will take place at two different sites in 2024. Site #1 will be next to Manuel Antonio National Park and Site #2 will be located near the village of Chachagua, close to the Arenal Volcano.

Register early as these programs tend to fill quickly! A $350 deposit will get your name on the big “I Want To Go To COSTA RICA” list and officially reserve your spot. It will be deducted from the total amount of the trip cost.

*The trip has a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 25 people.

CANCELLATION

Initial deposits and the $35 registration fee are non-refundable and non-transferable
50% of payments are refundable up to 90 days before program excluding initial deposit and the $35 registration fee
89 days prior to a program, tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable
Full tuition is refunded if the trip is canceled due to low enrollment. The $35 registration fee is not refundable
True Nature is not responsible for any loss incurred due to currency conversion rates

NSLS ALUMNI AND NON-NSLS MEMBERS

NSLS Alumni and Non-NSLS Members are also welcome on the trip. If you or someone you know would like to join us please let us know.

Non-members will have to pay the full tuition price and also agree to the True Nature / Code of Conduct True Nature / Code of Conduct for the trip. Alumni are eligible for the discount.

IS THIS PROGRAM FOR ME?

The programs are open to anyone 18 – 55 years old. Most participants are college age and traveling abroad for the first time. Our international programs are opportunities to put into practice the values and mission of True Nature which include service, leadership, adventure, and mindfulness. If you have an interest in the program, have an adventurous spirit, a desire to experience a different culture and a willingness to participate in group activities then you are welcome to join our programs.

We recommend that participants are in good physical condition. We will be exploring and hiking on uneven pathways and up and down hills. It is important to us that all participants are aware of the conditions so they can feel as comfortable as possible.

For your wellbeing, and that of the group, we ask all participants to disclose any existing medical conditions or limitations on the registration form.

We understand that many questions come up when visiting a place you have never been to. What do I bring? What is the weather like? We have created Participant Packages that will clarify these types of questions and more. Once you have registered, we will send you these materials. In addition, on our website we have a comprehensive FAQ section that also gives detailed answers to common questions. Getting There

All international flights will arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO). Before booking tickets, please be sure you have received your official confirmation note that the trip has met its minimum. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on our flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.

Travel Insurance

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $100, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
